Elie Dolgin
Science writer and broadcaster
- I am a science journalist in Vancouver, BC, Canada. From 2004–2008, I lived in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I studied evolution and genetics for my PhD, and tried to pursue my dreams of becoming an olympic curler. I think I'm sticking with science journalism.
- I just completed back-to-back writing internships: This past summer, I was a AAAS Mass Media Fellow at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper. Before that, I was the editorial intern at The Scientist magazine in Philadelphia, PA.
- Journalism: I write mostly about genetics, biotechnology, stem cells, and ecology, while dabbling in chemistry, physics, and astronomy.
- Audio: In 2007, I produced and presented BioPOD: the University of Edinburgh's biology podcast. I've also contributed to other radio shows and podcasts here and there.
- Research: My PhD research focused on the evolutionary genetics of sex. It sounds sexier than it was.
